Protocols
Class Protocols
This is where you can find details on how we will do things in class.
File Naming Protocol:
- All digital submissions should follow the file naming protocol:
- Period#_LastName_FirstName_AssignmentTitle
Homework due dates:
- Digital homework submissions have a default due time of 11:59 PM the day they are assigned. Typically these assignments are submitted through Google classroom, but occasionally digital submission will occur through Turnitin.com.
- All hand-written or printed out homework assignments should be assumed due at the beginning of the next class meeting unless an alternative due date or time is provided.
Note Taking
- The textbook provides the Learning Objective Essential Questions for the readings.
- The questions relate to the sections covered in the text so you may have more than one Essential Question/Reading objective for an assignment.
- Copy the essential question you will be answering
- Preview the entire section before you read
- Pay attention to pictures, graphs, maps, the bigger they are the more important they are.
- Read /Note Taking: fill in the left side column with the organization (ALL teal titles, red headings, and blue subheadings, terms, facts, people.) Then supply questions, notes, explanations in the right column.
- After you read and take notes, write a 3 to 4 sentence response to each essential question at the bottom of the last page you took notes (NOTE: credit for this is based on both quantity and quality)
- Here is the template for the Reading Notes Template used for the nightly homework reading assignments.
- Here is a template/example of the alpha-numeric outline style use for lecture notes, etc.
